Marcelle Lanchon (Sr. Marie France) (1891-1933) / OUR LADY QUEEN OF FRANCE

Marcelle Lanchon (Sr. Marie France) (1891-1933) / OUR LADY QUEEN OF FRANCE

Status: NO OFFICIAL DECISION OF APPROVAL from the Church on the apparition itself, however, the local Bishop later granted permission for the image and revealed prayer to be printed and distributed.  Therefore it is not condemned either and the story of this apparition may be spread by the faithful.

On September 8, 1914 in the Notre-Dame des Armées chapel at Versailles, the Blessed Virgin appeared to a young girl named, Marcelle Lanchon (1891-1933) to convey an important request during WWI as the enemy approached Paris.

The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared with the following message:

"If, in union with my Divine Son, I love all the nations which he has redeemed with His Blood, see how I particularly cherish your dear fatherland. (i.e France) My Son wants you to make images and statues representing me thus, and to be invoked under the name of “Our Lady Queen of France” If you respond to this new desire of His Divine Heart, France will become particularly mine again. I will take it forever under my maternal protection and my Son will be pleased to spread abundant blessings over it.”

Our Lady then appeared again the same day, this time, she was surrounded by clouds, but the clouds dispersed, showing her dressed in a blue coat, dotted with lily flowers, edged with white ermine. She wore a crown with three lilies representing royalty. The image then changed: she opened her arms as pictured in the Miraculous Medal, showing her dressed in a white dress and a blue belt falling in a tricolour scarf...her feet placed on half of a terrestrial globe on which was inscribed the word "France”, her foot crushing a serpent, a sign to show that France would not be conquered by Satan as long as She was Queen. Our Lady then raised her eyes to Heaven and asked her to pray for France, which they did together.

Our Lady then revealed the following prayer that she wished to be spread:

My Son, forgive her, (France) she still loves you since she never stopped loving me.”

Our Lady requested this prayer be included with the image representing her in the second part of the vision – (i.e. with her arms spread down to France) and to also to add the words to the image:

See how I cherish my people.”

She the revealed a second prayer to be recited before the statue of Our Lady of France once it was erected:

O Mary conceived without sin, our good Mother who wanted us to invoke You under the term so consoling to our hearts, QUEEN OF FRANCE, see prostrate at your feet your unhappy Subjects. Have mercy on us, be our Advocate with Your divine Son, our beloved King. We know that we have greatly offended Him, outraged even, that we have despised His commandments, trampled on the holy laws of His Church; but we also know, O lovable Sovereign, that You are all powerful on the Heart of this King of love who Himself only asks to forgive; therefore grant us this national and individual Peace so much desired by all for the greater glory of Your dear Son. So be it! Amen!”

Of interest, according to Alain Denizot's “The Sacred Heart and the Great War", (Editions: New Latin editions), on the same day of September 8, 1914 when the vision of Our Lady Queen of France occurred in Versailles, the Blessed Virgin appeared on the Marne in the afternoon facing the German army which was heading to Paris and stopped its advance. More than 100,000 men saw it and some, including a German priest, testified to it. It is said this was the secret of Marshal Foch but at them time it was then forbidden to speak of this vision, under penalty of death.

Here are several accounts some of the supernatural occurrences that happened on the Marne:

*) A specific testimony from Madame Tripet-Nizery, widow of Captain Tripet who died in action on September 4, 1916: she declared that being a nurse in the ambulance of the École Polytechnique, from the end of 1914 to June 1916, she received a wounded who had participated in the Battle of the Marne on the French side. He confided to her: "When we were ordered to leave, a woman in white, in front of the trench, was dragging us".

*) Le Courrier, newspaper of Saint-Lô, published on January 8, 1917 a letter dated January 3, 1915. A German priest, wounded and taken prisoner at the Battle of the Marne, died in a French ambulance where there were religious. He said to them: “As a soldier, I should remain silent; as a priest, I think I have to say what I saw. During the battle, we were surprised to be driven back because we were legion compared to the French, and we expected to arrive in Paris. But we saw the Blessed Virgin all dressed in white, with a blue belt, tilted towards Paris… She turned her back on us and, with her right hand, seemed to repel us. "

*) Two German officers, prisoners and wounded, testified as the dead priest had done on January 3, 1915. One of them says: "If I were on the front, I would be shot, because it was forbidden to tell, under pain of death, what I am going to tell you: you were surprised by our sudden retreat when we arrived at the gates of Paris. We could not go further, a Virgin stood before us, arms outstretched, pushing us whenever we were ordered to move forward. For several days we did not know if it was one of your national saints, Geneviève or Jeanne d'Arc. Afterwards, we understood that it was the Blessed Virgin who nailed us on the spot. On September 8, She pushed us away with such force, that all of us, as one man, fled. What I tell you, you will no doubt hear it later, because we are perhaps 100,000 men who have seen it. "

Marcelle Lanchon's next vision at the Chapel of Armies occurred on December 31, 1914. She saw Christ Himself, standing on the high altar and dressed in a white tunic, carrying the stigmata of His Passion, wearing a tricolour scarf like a deacon's stole with His Resplendent Heart of light in the middle, with Saint Michael and Saint Joan of Arc by their side, protectors of France. He then said to her, speaking of France:

"See how I cherish her, when will she fulfil my dearest desire? I want to see the image of my Heart painted on its flags.”

On June 20 , Marcelle prayed in this same chapel. She was looking towards the tabernacle. Christ appeared to her a second time, in supernatural clarity, dressed in the same tricolour scarf, girded with a golden crown decorated with lily flowers and a purple cloak, like a Bourbon king.  His feet rested on a globe where the word "France" was written in golden letters.

His Heart, which He showed with his left hand, "crowned with thorns and bloody", appeared on the white of the stole. On the red was written: "He wants to reign over France."

(NOTE: When Christ revealed the devotion to His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary, He also requested His Sacred Heart to be placed on the royal standard of France, which would have ensured its protection, but Louis XIV did not comply, neither did his successor until Louis XVI consecrated the country to the Sacred Heart in his prison cell, but it was almost too late to the detriment of the country.  It is rather surprising that Our Lady and Our Lord would appear here with the tricolour of the French Republic as it is revealed in the visions of Marie-Julie Jahenny that Heaven considers the tricolour 'impure colors' of the diabolical Masonic Republic that supplanted the White Flag of the Catholic Monarchy, the flag Heaven promises to restore to France, but it is possible at this point Heaven was giving the democratic government another chance to do the right thing. The Republic had already built the basilica of Sacre Coeur as a 'propitiation' church after the horrors of the Franco-Prussian war in the mid 1800s, the national Church the Sacred Heart had requested from the kings along with having His Heart placed on the flag.   Marie-Julie Jahenny revealed the future of France was now saved thanks to the building of the national church dedicated to the Sacred Heart-one of the conditions fulfilled, even if it was fulfilled by the Republic and not the Monarchy as Heaven would have liked. So, a grace was given.  Now, the Republic must have been given a chance to place that Heart on the flags as requested, even if it is the tricolour.  God always gives nations a chance to do what is right.  So far, the Republic of France has refused.  It may continue to refuse as the other Great Monarch prophecies predict the Republic will be swept away to make room for the restoration of the Monarchy.)

Many of the faithful supported Marcelle in her revelations; and the ecclesiastical authorities were informed of the facts. But the First World War buried the file: no investigation was officially declared. Nevertheless, she was not condemned, and the local Bishop of Versailles, Mgr Roland-Gosselin, (bishop from 1931-1952) authorised the printing of the Image of Mary, Queen of France, as well as the revealed prayer, which he indulgenced.

She became Sister Marie France and was one of the first members of the Pious Union of Adorers of the Heart of Jesus, a lay sister organisation. Its goal was to prayer and make sacrifices for the reign of the Sacred Heart and the salvation of France. Initially, the order did not have official status from the Church, in fact, Sr. Marie France would not live to see it approved, however, the congregation was officially authorised in 1939.

Sr. Marie France made a vow offering herself as a victim on June 11, 1915. All the sisters of this congregation made the vow of the victim, placing themselves at the disposal of the Divine Priest for His work of Salvation. In 1933 a the age of 41, Sr. Marie France she died of tuberculosis, after excruciating pain. Her doctor testified that her pains were abnormally acute, and that she displayed all her reason, as well as a calm and moderate temperament. She was buried in the same tomb as the superior mother of her congregation, Sr. Marguerite Marie. In 1934, frescoes representing the apparitions were painted in the chapel of Notre Dame des Armées in Versailles. The Pious Union died out and went extinct for lack of nuns who wished to join this congregation.

Of interest, Sr. Marie France continued to have visions and mystic experiences, but told no one about it except her fellow sisters as in humility she did not wish to be noticed but only to be hidden. A handful of her prophecies have been transmitted thanks to the Mother Superior of the Pious Union of Adorers, Sr. Marguerite Marie, who wrote a few in few diary, and, they are Great Monarch prophecies.

::::::::::::::::::::

France will no longer be called France but 'New France'.   (NOTE: of interest, in the visions of Marie-Julie Jahenny, Our Lady called France, 'My New France' in regards to the future promised restoration, and, Our Lord also said to Marie-Julie He wished to rebuild a NEW France for His Mother.  The Holy Spirit and St. Michael also mentioned 'the new France' in her revelations.)

It will be thanks to Brittany that it will not be cursed by God.  (NOTE: again we see this in Marie-Julie Jahnney's prophecies, that Brittany will be spared much of the chastiments as devotion to Our Lady is strongest there.)

They will wonder for a long time why there remained a green leaf on the dead branch of France.

Versailles, which will carry as its motto "between heaven and earth", will see the Virgin Mary enthroned Queen of France, by the King of the Sacred Heart. (i.e the Great Monarch)

This one will come on foot to the gates of the castle and will give his crown to King Louis XVI and the diadem to Marie Antoinette, before the people of France who will be in such bad health that he will have tears in his eyes. (I.e. He will weep at the state in which he finds the people).

This king will be more like a priest than a monarch.

He will have his cathedrals rebuilt with the help of all nations.
