VEN. MARY OF JESUS OF ÁGREDA (1602-1665) (Spanish:
María
de Jesús), OIC,
also known as the Abbess of Ágreda , was a Franciscan
abbess and spiritual writer, known especially for her extensive
correspondence with King Philip IV of Spain and reports of her
bilocation between Spain and its colonies in New Spain. She was a
noted mystic of her era.
A member of the Order of
the Immaculate Conception, also known as Conceptionists, Mary of
Jesus wrote 14 books, including a series of revelations about the
life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her best known book is the
Mystical City of God. It was first put on the Index of Forbidden
Books due to misinterpretations caused by a faulty French
translation. The book was removed from the list once the errors had
been cleared up. Her bilocation activity is said to have occurred
between her cloistered monastery in rural Spain and the Jumano
Indians of central New Mexico and West Texas, and inspired many
Franciscan missionaries in the New World. In popular culture since
the 17th century, she has been dubbed the' Lady in Blue' and the 'Blue
Nun', after the color of her order's habit.
Less
than ten years after her death, Mary of Jesus was declared Venerable
by Pope Clement X, in honor of her "heroic life of virtue”.
Although the process of beatification was opened in 1673, it has not
as yet been completed. Her body is incorrupt.
While
Ven. Mary of Ágreda did not make a Great Monarch or Angelic Pontiff
prophecy per se, she revealed that in the end times Our Lady would
cause many heresies to cease in an unprecedented manner, basically,
she made a prediction of what Our Lady would later promise in Fatima,
the Age of Peace. Her revelation on this matter was also repeated
by Our Lord to Marie-Julie Jahenny - that the
coming of the Great Monarch and therefore the Age of Peace and renewal of the Church would be left in the
hands of His Immaculate Mother.

Ven.
Mary of Ágreda: “It was revealed to me that through the
intercession of the Mother of God, all heresies will disappear.
This victory over heresies has been reserved by Christ for His
Blessed Mother. In the last times the Lord will especially spread the
renown of His Mother: Mary began salvation and by her intercession it
will be concluded. Before the Second Coming of Christ, Mary must,
more than ever, shine in mercy, might and grace in order to bring
unbelievers into the Catholic Faith. The powers of Mary in the last
times over the demons will be very conspicuous. Mary will extend the
reign of Christ over the heathens and Mohamedans and it will be a
time of great joy when Mary as Mistress and Queen of Hearts is
enthroned…”
