(!?) 'Birch Tree' Prophecy of Fére

SUSPECTED FORGERY
According to a source I
found there was a hermit that supposedly lived circa 1845, and was a
Third Order member of the Franciscans who lived in the diocese of
Aix-la-Chapelle.
Apparently, he did make
several prophecies - war with Italy, unification of the German states
and the war of 1866, the war of 1870/71 and the capture of Rome. He
reportedly shared his visions with his brother in 1858 and 1871.
However, according
to an author named Yves De la Briere, in “Le Destin de l'Empire
allemand 1916” a writer named Joséphin Péladan forged a 'Birch
Tree Prophecy' and attributed it to Brother Anthony in the “Revue
Hebdomadaire”. (Source:
