!? David Pareaus (Poreaus) (1548-1622)

STATUS: NOT A CATHOLIC PROPHECY

!? David Pareaus (1548–1622) or Poreaus, or Pareus (also known as Davidis Parei, Davide Pareo, and David Wängler) was a German Calvinist Reformer. In fact, his commentary on St. Paul's Epistle to the Romans in 1617 was condemned by King James I of England as containing anti-monarchy material and ordered this work to be burnt.  (Source: Bibliotheca Britannica; Or a General Index to British and Foreign Literature. By Robert Watt, M.D. in Two Parts: - Authors and Subjects, Volume 2, 1824, p. 731)

He wrote many anti-papal tracts, and I have also discovered that near the end of his life, Pareaus wrote extensive texts against St. Robert Bellarmine, Doctor of the Church.  (Source: Affect Before Spinoza: Reformed Faith, Affectus, and Experience in Jean Calvin,John Donne, John Milton and Baruch Spinoza by Russ Leo, Department of Literature Duke University, p. 332)

It is therefore unfortunate to see Catholic sites and texts quoting him as a trustworthy Great Monarch prophecy commentator when Pareaus separated himself from the very Church that the promised King is destined to restore.

The text attributed to Pareaus did get a few things right:

"The Great Monarch will be of French descent (…) he will crush the enemies of the Pope and will conquer the East”.

However, is his physical description correct?

The King will have a “large forehead, large dark eyes, light brown wavy hair and an eagle nose.”

This may sound innocent enough, but  considering that Pareaus was Protestant and a stuanch anti-Catholic who believed leaders should be held accountable for their actions, this detail of an 'eagle nose' was obviously not meant as a compliment but a mocking jibe at the 'Bourbon nose' of the French Catholic Kings and the Ancien Regime.

And, we must note this prophecy is dangerous in that a false description could easily lead people to reject the true chosen King if he does not look as described.

As we can see,  the chosen Catholic King has been revealed to approved and creditable mystics, (click here for info), and the king doesn't really fit the description Pareaus gave, so, the 'prophet' got it wrong - the chosen king has blue eyes, blond hair, and did not inherit the large dreaded 'Bourbon nose' of his French ancestors.

So, as Catholic should not give credence to Protestant commentaries on prophecies regarding a Catholic monarch to come, Pareaus was also incorrect on the details of the prophecy that are obviously his own addition meant as a mockery to the Catholic French monarchs, and therefore his prophecy is not included in the timeline.
